SOL Trip Edition

My chest heaved casting thick air into my boiling hot body. My legs burned calves feeling the power of the wind. My eyes take in the beauty of the bright clouds folding over each other, tumbling across the evening stars. Waves crashed against the rocks contrasting beauty with power. Algae clung to the wet rocks struggling to live in the harsh environment. The smell of salt clung to me, my forehead draped in sweat. As I looked out on to the ocean, I take in the sprawling mass of waves and water, the power and the peace.

Book blog the Phantom Tollbooth

A few weeks ago I read the Phantom Tollbooth again. This is most certainly my favorite book and I felt the need to return to it. Milo a child who is a little bored with his dull life receives an imaginary tollbooth, upon driving through it in his toy car he is taken to another land. Here he met Tock his new loyal companion who will accompany him through his many adventures. This book is so good just because of the detail crazy characters and the imagination in it. I recommend this book for anyone. If you haven't read it you must, I am certain you will love it.

Book Blog Tuesday the 28th

This week I read Shiver. At first I thought that this book would be a little dull and 'feminine'. But I was wrong. This book was really quite good. Grace is eleven, when a pack of wolves all of the sudden take her while she is swinging outside on her tire swing. They then proceed to maul her in the woods. As they are mauling her a wolf, Sam watches on and eventually gets them to stop. After this graphic event, she becomes a part of the wolf pack. And is accepted as one of the wolves. I have read quite a few books like this. But this one was really interesting and different. I would kind of compare to a book, Wolf Brother, but I prefer that to Shiver.

I don't care anymore

I don't care anymore
And when people ask what for
I say the same as I did before
Ladies and gentlemen please let me reside
Now I will let you decide
Rigid smooth solid
A phrase patented by fluent thought
Instantly cast as soon as it's brought
Firm feelings sometimes form
Because I don't care anymore
I don't care anymore

Book Blog Tuesday the 21st

Catch-22 is focused in WWII, following a bomber named John Yossarian. Yossarian is stationed in Pianosa an island in the mediterranean, just off of the coast of Italy. John has to deal with all the problems of war, including his superiors, who waste resources, and send him and his crew on life threatening missions. I really liked this book, partially because I like history, and also because it is written so vividly. This book contains some mature content.
